Challenges of Gender Inequality in Georgia - Aspects of Employers

At the conference held on April 10, Irma Daushvili, Founder and CEO of DIO, Chairman of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs and Member of the Board of SDA, spoke on "Challenges of Gender Inequality in Georgia - Aspects of Employers". Held with the support of the organization (ILO / DANIDA).

Irma Daushvili spoke about the example of Georgia based on the research of the UN International Organization for Women: how women are involved in economic activities; See also what the labor market is like in terms of gender; The redistribution of women and men in the economic sector, the number of employees in the business sector and the distribution of employees by position. Many practical examples from the field of company management were discussed. Gender gap in pay and what solutions are needed to address this issue.

We would like to remind you that during the conference in 2017, DIO signed the principles of women's empowerment and adopted the relevant action plan, which is being worked on.

Discussions with the social partners and other stakeholders in the format of the planned international roundtable, as well as: "Mechanisms for the Prevention of Unequal Remuneration and Sexual Harassment in the Workplace" were held. In particular, reports on the event were made around the 100th International Labor Organization Convention and International Labor Standards.

Among the invited guests from international organizations - the International Organization of Employers (IOE), the Federation of Employers of Montenegro, the UN Women's initiative Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC) and Sustainable Development Goal 8.5., Discussed and presented examples of best practices, initiatives, etc.
