In Georgia, we rarely meet a family business that has been operating for a long time and has been a leader in the construction industry for years. The company DIO was founded in 1996 and its success history has been over two decades. We talked to Tamar Daushvili, the company's financial director, about the company's goals and future plans.
The Company’s 22 year long history
DIO has three founders, Irma Daushvili, Tamaz Daushvili, and me Tamar Daushvili. This is a family business and naturally, our business is also saturated with this trend. DIO is 22 years old and my position in the company has been different in different periods, almost all the steps have been taken by the founders, none of the positions are inexperienced and foreign to us, today I am the financial director. In my opinion, it is important, a busy schedule, a special responsibility, all this - in a very pleasant environment and with nice people." Every DIO employee is special and motivated, so it is a pleasure to work with the team.
Company’s goals and values
The company is developing in accordance with European standards (great efforts of the founders in this direction), focused on quality of both products and services. Like all developed, successful companies, customer satisfaction is important to us. The company has long been involved in the implementation of the quality system, we have also introduced ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 9001: 2015, in this regard, annual monitoring is conducted by European partners.
Our goal is for the company to operate with a sound management system, services in line with European standards and quality products. This requires human and financial resources. Our goal and aspiration is DIO to be one of the best companies and brands.
Last year's assessment for the company
One year in particular is difficult to assess, the processes are so intertwined with us, however, we go forward and work for it in a busy mode, trying to minimize the impact of negative economic events. The volatile GEL exchange rate, of course, hinders us from implementing many interesting projects, but we try to approach all investments and initiatives wisely. We make decisions together, not only with the founders, but also with the staff. This is a modern and European approach to business management. 2017 was not a bad year, but we hope 2018 will be better.
The main challenge for the current year and the future plan
Today, business is facing a significant challenge, fluctuating economic processes affect all kinds of activities, so our task is instant and reasonable reaction, it involves routine work, do not relax, do not lose control and do not make processes irreversible.
Our immediate goal for 2018 is to expand the enterprise, to prepare the base for new projects, it means to increase the number of employees, to raise the qualification of employees (a qualified employee creates a quality product), it means to increase the motivation of the whole company.
