22 years thinking of inovative

Dio's business history begins with the ongoing changes in Georgia. Gaining independence in 1992 completely changed the direction of the Georgian economy and business.

The notion of business was foreign to the Soviet consciousness, changes in our activities and lifestyles became necessary. Irma Daushvili, the founder of DIO, also started her business activity during this period. Last year, she became the first Georgian woman to win the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award.

Veuve Clicquot is an award for women that encourages them to break down their innovative thinking, bold ideas and stereotypes. The award is given annually in 27 countries around the world.

Today, this award is considered the "Oscar" of business women. The Veuve Clicquot competition was held for the first time last year and Irma Daushvili, the founder of DIO, became the winner of the prize. She fully met the criteria for evaluating the nominees and became the ambassador of the brand in 2018, and in French vineyards one of the vines will be named after her - "Irma".

Irma Daushvili, founder of DIO: "This award gave me new energy. After 22 years, you may think and doubt, are you tired, maybe you have come up with ideas, maybe you are no longer such a leader? Such news always gives you an incentive to do something new.”

It turned out to be a sign to work harder, not stop and move forward. She received a master's degree in management from the University of Sheffield.

The Veuve Clicquot Award for the founder of the company "Dio" in 2017 is neither the first nor the last time she will get recognition. This period has become the culmination of 22 years of activity. Despite strong competition, the company has taken a number of successful steps over the years and has earned a number of well-deserved victories. Among them was the status of "Business of the Year".

Irma Daushvili: “There is no company, there is no manager without their own team. This assessed not only the work of the leader, but also the work of the whole team. Also important in March was the Business for Gender Equality competition, funded by the USAD project, which aimed to identify companies operating in Georgia that help women get education and realize their full potential. I was filling out a form and I felt we had made the right decision: it was a competition where we definitely had to take part. Gender equality is well maintained in our company. Although the specifics of our business are less tailored to women, the management presents women quite well in management, even 2 out of 3 founders are women. As a female leader, I understand them well and support them in their decisions. In addition, the personnel policy of the company DIO is aimed at increasing the motivation of employees and continuous professional growth. We fund staff training, in 2016 we trained female staff from almost every department. I should also mention that at the end of 2017, the company DIO joined the implementation of the principles of women's empowerment.

Other family members are also involved in Irma Daushvili's business, DIO is a family affair. For 22 years, Irma Daushvili has been running her favorite business with her siblings. Says she was particularly lucky in the partners. Tamar and Tamaz Daushvilis led the joint cause with great responsibility.

Tamaz Daushvili, co-founder and CEO of DIO: “From the very beginning, we were focused on quality, which we maintained until the end. The main prerequisite for our success is quality, which is a rare occurrence in our reality. The overall marketing strategy of the company from the very beginning was as follows: We sell quality products, so we must definitely meet customer expectations. "Customers need to make sure that the product they pay for today will serve them for decades."

It is also important to manage finances properly, which is led quite well by Tamar Daushvili. We have redistributed our functions and have a high level of trust, among partners and managers. Employees from us rarely leave. Many of them have 20-22 years of experience working for DIO."

Tamar Daushvili, co-founder and CEO of DIO: “We have a high sense of responsibility from our family. Our foremost focus has been on being a fair leader and manager. The whole team of DIO is focused on the high quality of service, an indicator of this is the satisfied customer. This attitude is shared by all our employees and we achieve the desired results. "Success is the goal of every person, success does not mean happiness, only a happy person is successful, and a person is happy when they have their job, knows where they stands, what they does, and what they can do."

Twelve types of curtains and blinds for apartment or office, insect protection nets, awnings with remote control, garage doors with automatic control system, external protective blinds, plastic doors and windows with sound insulation and temperature system with strong sound insulation, external insulation, horizontal blinds for the facades of institutions, glazing systems and many other products are in the business card of DIO today. The company has an enterprise of modern standards, where it produces 60 products of European quality. Its branches are spread in almost all big cities of Georgia. It is also planned to open a new enterprise. The company also intends to develop in the direction of alumni.

DIO today is a company that dictates standards and trends to the Georgian market, with many years of experience and innovative approaches.

Irma Daushvili does not like to talk loudly about future goals and dreams, but in her heart she has one wish, which she says at the farewell: she believes that one day DIO will turn into a big corporation, where many people will be employed and many interesting ideas will spread.
